Transgender and Non-conforming Issues

We have over 20 years working with the transgender and Non-Conforming community.  We address issues such as discrimination, trauma, depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, and substance use issues.  The Moriel Mental Health Center is trained by the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH).  Affirmative letters for hormone therapy and other medical procedures are provided.

Veterans, after serving their nations with dedication and valor, often confront a range of challenges upon returning to civilian life. Many grapple with mental health issues like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, and depression, stemming from the traumatic events they witnessed or experienced during service. Physical injuries, some leading to lifelong disabilities, can further complicate their reintegration. Additionally, many veterans face difficulties in securing stable employment, navigating bureaucracy for benefits, and reconnecting with family and social networks. The transition from a structured military environment to a less regimented civilian world can also pose challenges in terms of identity and purpose, sometimes leading to feelings of isolation and disconnection.

Relationships with others are key to our well-being, success, and good quality of life.  Dr. Juan works with relationships issue such as significant others, partners, children, family, and co-workers/supervisors.  Ways to improve communication and establish healthy relationships are addressed. Self-esteem issues and boundary-setting are also addressed.
